August 1, 2024

The institution is proud to notify all enrolled and prospective students of the upcoming change in ownership of the Cincinnati School of Barbering & Hair Design.

Effective November 1, 2024 the Cincinnati School of Barbering & Hair Design, Inc. will be under the new ownership of Prince Fields, Alex Fields, and Randi Smith.

Prince and Alex Fields are the current owners, operators, and founders of the Prince’s Barber Academy located in Zanesville Ohio. www.princesbarber.academy

Randi Smith is the manager of the Cincinnati School of Barbering & Hair Design and has been directly involved with the management and compliance of the Cincinnati School of Barbering since 2012.

Prince Fields is a co-owner and one of the lead barber instructors of Prince’s Barber Academy. Prince has been in the hair industry for approximately 20 years. Prince realized years ago that the hair industry was not a job but rather a lifestyle.

Prince grinded his way up the barbering ranks and was able to open his first shop, Prince of Cuts, in 2015. Which he is proud to say is still open today. The road to success has not been easy for Prince, but he was able to successfully brand himself and use his skill set to land a spot on the BaByliss4Barbers team in 2018. Working with BaByliss4Barbers from all around the world has enabled Prince to sharpen his barbering skills. It also renewed his love of learning and drove him to want to educate others. Prince is also proud to call several pro-athletes and Ohio State Buckeye players as clients.

In 2021, Prince, along with his business partner, was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of opening a barber school. All the while, he is giving back to his community and educating others on a trade he loves. He takes pride in instructing his students in traditional barbering, on the latest trends and techniques, and helping them to be the best they can be in all aspects of their life.

Alex Fields is a co-owner of the Prince’s Barber Academy and handles the operations of the school. Alex’s motto: “Honesty, integrity, grit, and hard work are the four core values that have led me through life. These credences are the reason I am proudly able to call myself co-owner of Prince’s Barber Academy and an entrepreneur. Using these four basic principles to guide our students will help them rise to the top of their game, not only as a barber but in all aspects of life.”

Randi Smith, a licensed Master Cosmetology Instructor and a licensed Managing Cosmetologist, has over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the cosmetology and barber industries.

In addition to being the manager of the Cincinnati School of Barbering & Hair Design, Randi Smith has owned and operated LARK Education Associates (an accreditation consulting firm) for approximately 15 years. Randi worked for 4 years as an Accreditation Specialist for the largest accreditor in the nation, the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS). For over 16 years, Randi served as the Vice-President and Director of a chain of NACCAS accredited schools offering cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and nail tech programs. She was responsible for the school management, curriculum development and implementation, compliance, and for overseeing the admissions and financial aid departments. Randi worked her way up from student, hairstylist, Instructor, Director of Education, Director of Financial Aid, and then School Director at the same group of schools.

Prince, Alex, and Randi, along with the staff at the school will continue the legacy left to them by the Greene Family and work to bring the school to the next level in barber education.
